Two Subjects of the Curse

“Oh my God! It’s a curse! ” – without this phrase, the esoteric script on television and in the cinema is no longer so interesting. Considering how often such statements can be heard, it is worth thinking that every second person or family has definitely become the target of some sorceress, and if not, then there will not be long to wait. Sometimes it comes down to paranoia. Having received such a “diagnosis”, some people who do not understand anything in esotericism perceive it as a “sentence”, sometimes mortal. But what is actually the case?

I totally disagree that this is a matter of faith. The fact is that some information of an esoteric nature, especially regarding a threat to life or health, is almost impossible to digest or spit out. A person, even if he/she is rational at the level of consciousness, still has an ocean of the unconscious inside. It is filled with myths, archetypes, deities and monsters, and these images were there before, in the process of ontogeny (individual development), a person formed his/her rational ego. In other words, we all come from childhood, and any child lives in a “fairy world”.

But this does not mean at all that a rational person is defenseless against an esoteric irrational threat. Quite the opposite is true. Unlike the widespread opinion, esotericism can be rational, just its internal laws and rules differ from the picture of the world of modern science.

Does esotericism recognize the very concept of “curse”? Of course. There is a lot of evidence in the literature. I have not seen a work in which the author would summarize all the existing points of view on this matter, but in simple terms, the following description of the process will turn out. Someone with special knowledge and skills (and sometimes a special gift), with the help of a ritual or in a state of emotional passion, forms a destructive thought-form directed at the so-called victim of the curse. Further, this thought-form takes root in the subtle bodies of a person, like a virus, which first poisons thinking and the emotional background, and then is expressed in concrete destruction of life at the event level.

Oddly enough, but in this description, there is nothing esoteric, if you do not forget one simple truth: for the curse to work, the victim must accept and internalize it. But about this, esoteric literature, as a rule, is silent, which creates a picture of one-sided action and complete defenselessness in front of magical influence.

I do not deny the esoteric side of curses, but I am not ready to consider them without the accompanying psychological context, which plays a key role in the modern world. Imagine a person who has been told that he has been cursed. Of course, it all depends on what kind of person he is. If this is a superstitious type who believes in esotericism, but does not understand it, but his primary reaction will be fear. In another case, if a person does not like esotericism, but hears about a curse in her address, she will feel irritated, since they have shown aggression against her. But then the most unpleasant thing happens. It is very difficult to get rid of such a thought, since a person does not have the final confidence in the absence of magic and curses. And she begins to explain any, even the slightest, unpleasant event in her subsequent life as the result of a curse. The more unpleasant events, the more a person believes in a curse, is afraid of it, launching what in psychology is called a self-fulfilling prophecy. But the question is, was there really a curse?

It was like an act of aggression. But it is not a fact that a competently performed magic ritual took place. And that’s why. Today it costs nothing to go to a bookstore and buy a book that will describe a particular magical ritual. You can even not go anywhere, but just download the recipe from the Internet. Further, if a person is at the level of magical thinking, he/she is sure that it is worth performing the ritual, as the curse will work. By magical thinking, I do not mean at all a belief in magic, but the child’s level of development of the human psyche, which is not able to critically understand the issue. A critical analysis says the following.

Who writes these books anyway? Some of them are written by professional linguists who are fluent in the word, but do not understand anything about esotericism. In addition, the success of the ritual itself is influenced by a lot of factors, from the astrologically correct time to the corresponding attributes. Almost all authoritative sources of classical esotericism say that the magician is not the one who performed the ritual from the book, but the one who leads the appropriate lifestyle, trains the will, character, completely devotes himself to magic, knows the esoteric structure of the world, and prepares before performing a certain ritual, sometimes for years. That is, watching the series after work, and then sending a curse on someone in ten minutes, and then going to cook dinner, is not esoteric, but something else.

But even if a truly prepared practitioner worked in your case, who did everything right, one should not forget that this is only half the battle. Fifty percent of the responsibility lies with the person himself, since it is he who realizes this curse in life. And this is not at all a duel on the field of esotericism, in which we understand worse than your “magic enemy”, but a struggle on the field of your life, in which there is no better expert than yourself.

The curse will have an effect if your life is unaware. If you cannot figure out where your thought is, and where is the influence of the environment, if you do not know your character, if you are not aware of your feelings, then any person who simply spits after you can quite successfully curse you. No matter how strange it may sound, curses are best removed not by other esotericists, not by church rituals, but by yourself, preferably with the help of a practicing psychologist who will help you regain power over your psyche.

A curse has two subjects – one who curses and one who accepts. The best protective amulet against any magical influence is esoteric rationality and psychological awareness. And I would also add optimism and a good sense of humor.
